Im with Becky Rose, If your smart, careful about the sites you visit and what you put into your machine, then theres really no need for a Virus scanner. Hell, all I've been using for the past 3 years is ya basic Windows Firewall. Never once have I had to reformat, reinstall, or virus scan my system.
Thunderbird sucks, I tried it out for around a month and even though they are little problems, they gradually build up to a plain nightmare. Outlook 2003 is by far the best commercial email app out there. Even outlook express does a better job than thunderbird.
