How-To: Ubuntu/Kubuntu 5.04

I installed GCC3.3-Base (that was the only thing I found on Synaptic when I searched for GCC). If I want to rebuild the modules BlitzMax now hives me:

Building Modules
Compiling:blitz_app.c
gcc: no inputfiles

Process completed

If I want to build Digesteroids Blitzmax now hives me:

Building digesteroids
Linking: digesteroids
sh: -c: line 0: unexpected EOF while looking for matching '''
sh: -c: line 1: syntax error: unexpected end of file
