Stay tuned folkes, doing a nice demo for Blitzmax which falls back from hardware to software.
Got a problem trying to detect if hardware is present.
Use the troubleshoot tab on your windows display preferences -> advanced window to disable 3D to test.
The problem I'm having is: blitzmax throws an unhandled exception on both DX and OpenGL when not present --- nasty!
How do we work around this? Ideally Graphics() should return true or false if it worked or not.
