Perhaps if you want to focus on the devs you should just make some sort of developer archive with interviews etc... It could be cool. I can see what you're talking about with the lack of personal touches here and on BlitzCoder ... Personally I really like the way Garage Games community is setup. It gives a more personal edge for devs with very complete profiles that you can list previous work and a little description of yourself etc...
