@Floyd the algorithm does only need some small fixed code as well as a small fixed amount of memory, so cachesize should not affect the results at all. Even less at thousands of iterations even for the first test.
I guess it might be just some other tasks running on the machine but only about every second - maybe repeating the test a hundert times for each number of iterations and taking the average would give the expected results.
