The blue pyramids are nothing, but, you can use them to gain your bearing. You will not see any Markers until you drop them.
Move the Marker Guide (Yellow Quad) Over the area you want to drop Markers. You can adjust the size of the Guide [F1] for Controls.
Once you have the Guide where you want it, Press LMB to drop markers.
