Uh - binary floats?
int number of markers
float x
float y
float z
...
I think this is only a list of markers, not assigned to a space cluster, and no paths stored, right?
I would really save them as a simple list. It will be easy to assign them to a 3D Grid, based on their position, and then do 6 linepicks from each marker, in every direction. If the surrounding markers can be picked or seen, there is no obstacle in between them.
We could use a second Grid for the obstacles, and use it for the pathfinding stuff.
