Have you tried the CSHOP demo? It's a modeler and lightmapper all in one and it will definitely save the textures with the model. Of course it doesn't allow you to import your chairs and stuff directly, you have to convert them with the prefab thing...but it might be a good choice if all you're interested in doing is making building type stuff.
