singularity - having problems running the blitz 3d code

I can run the compiled demo - but when I load the singularity blitz basic file and run it - I get an error saying the function "piece" is not defined - and this happens around the KEYBIND area.

Any help would be appreciated because I would LOVE to use this fine engine with cart shop 4!!!
